Tiliva Resort is set in 18 acres of lush tropical gardens,  just minutes away from the Astrolabe Reef.  It is remote, pristine and secluded with its own beachfront yet has all the creature comforts of home.  It has 24 hour electricity, full en suite facilities and screened bures.
Tiliva Resort is a small intimate resort with six deluxe bures just minutes from the beach.  The bures are individually nestled in the trees for privacy thereby enhancing the feeling of remoteness and more in contact with nature.

The Astrolabe Reef surrounds the north/north East half of Kadavu and is about 100km long making it the fourth largest barrier reef in the world.  Tiliva Resort is minutes away from this fantastic reef, most of the dive sites are by easy access with a very short boat ride from the resort.

It is an ideal place for a holiday full of adventure, sea kayaking, snorkelling on the house reef or the Astrolabe Reef, trips to the waterfall, bird watching, cultural visits and tours of the medicinal plants within the resort.

Room types

The sites for  the bures have been carefully selected bearing in mind the environment and privacy for the guests.  The bures are nestled in the trees for privacy, are stand alone and not in a straight line with each other.

All the bures are fully tiled throughout, have full ensuite facilities, showers big enough for two, high wooden ceilings, ceiling fans, 24 hour electricity, the doors and windows are fully meshed against the bugs and each bure has their own private veranda on two sides.

Our one beachfront bure is footsteps from the beach and has a great big veranda on three sides, one of which overlooks the sea.

Our activities

Diving on Kadavu is suitable for all from the advanced to the novice.  It is unusual to see another dive boat at the same dive site so there is plenty of room for all.  We do a two tank dive in the morning and a third can be arranged for the afternoon for the energetic.

Kayaking is a great way to explore the coastline, shallow reefs and beautiful bays.  Guests can participate in a guided tour or simply explore the lagoons using the resort's kayaks.

Snorkelling in Kadavus warm water is a must.  Snorkel on the house reef or on the Astrolabe Reef where there is crystal cear water and an abundance of marine life.

Kadavu has four species of birds that are not found anywhere else in the world.  All four can be seen around the resort or close to the resort.  We can provide a guide for a trip to the rainforest to the see the birds, or alternatively you can look for them in the resort.

Dining

Dining is in the restaurant or on the veranda of the main bure overlooking the gardens from where you can see the Kadavu parrot flying past.

Kokoda (ceviche) is top of the list here together with all those different coconut sauces for the fresh fish - wahoo, walu, and coral trout to name but a few.

Our kitchen garden provides us with plenty of fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs which are organically grown.  Kemu cares for the garden daily, he grows cassava, dalo, pineapples, mangoes, egg plant, cabbage, rourou, chillies, capiscum - the list is endless.

All this fresh fruit, vegetables, fish and local delicacies are served with a big Fijian smile.

There is a well stocked bar with cold beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks.

Contact

There is a daily flight from Nadi to Vunisea airport in Kadavu and once we know your flight details our boat will meet the plane and bring you to the resort.  The cost of the transfer is included in the rate.

It is about a 60 minute trip in the boat from the aiport to the resort.  Travelling up the coastline is exhilarating, guests can enjoy the true nature of the South Pacific, is is not unusual to encounter a variety of ocean life such as turtles, dolphins and many flying fish.
