By experiencing Fiji on foot and joining your guides along trails that existed long before any roads, you get a unique insight into the vibrant traditional culture that underpins daily life in the hills.
Your trek is in partnership with the communities you visit to reduce its impact and maximise its benefits. You stay in and visit traditional villages and local lodges, enjoy meals with the community and share stories. By joining a trek you are providing a supplementary source of income to these remote communities in Fiji’s interior.
‘Talanoa’ is the Fijian word for chatting or telling stories, and as you walk and talk you’ll discover all around you, hidden in plain sight, medicinal plants, old village sites, food gardens, grazing sites, fishing grounds and even battlefields. For your guides this is home. It’s where they played as kids, where they hunt and farm, relax and joke, and it’s where they guide you.
Our community partnerships ensure you can enjoy your trek knowing that you are respecting Fijian culture and walking with the blessing of traditional landowners.
All along the way you’ll experience genuine Fijian hospitality and leave with friends, memories, and stories that last long after the blisters have healed!
Those stunning beaches will be waiting for you after your trek, and will be all the more rewarding after an adventure into the hills.
ContactWe schedule treks throughout the year and provide tailored treks for private individuals or groups. As you'll want to be properly equipped, with at least your favourite hiking shoes, we ask our guests to book well in advance of their arrival in Fiji. This means we can properly brief you on what to expect and help the communities you visit plan ahead.
We're based in Suva, and our day trip departs from here, but for all our multi-day treks we arrange pick up or transfers from wherever you are on the main island, as our real office is the hills and rivers of the interior!
