Surf: An amazing surfing experience is offered on the ocean that lies beyond Maqai Beach. We offer a 'wavepark' to cater for all surfer levels. The reefs in front of Maqai are a surfer's dream come true. Crowds are non-existent with warm water, lefts and rights. There are 6 awesome surf breaks located close to the beach ranging from world-class barrels to playful learner waves The Sand Bar is the heart of the resort with plenty of room to relax under the big roof. With leather chairs, mahogany tables and a white sandy floor. Here you will find a tour desk for planning your activities and adventures, a cafe and licensed bar.

You'll often hear laughter singing and guitars keeping alive the island atmosphere. The local culture can be experienced first-hand with a traditional village-style infusion. The Maqai Beach experience can be action packed or totally relaxed. There is an abundance of adventures and activities for the active and many private hideaways to enjoy paradise peacefully. Thers a mixture ocean and earth activities. Maqai Beach is surrounded by adventure with world-class snorkelling surfing, fishing, diving, and hiking! We are also surrounded by incredible nature with pristine park-like rainforest, lovely Mountainous vistas, and pure local ecosystems. A Full Fiji Fusion Meal Plan is mandatory when staying at maqai Beach Surf Resort  Experience a combination of fruits and vegetables fresh from our on-site organic garden as well as local farmer's markets. Fresh fish features on the menu regularly and recipes are inspired from the local Fijian village with international infusion. On a special occasion, the Maqai crew prepare a traditional Lovo feast (a meal cooked in an underground firepit) or a create-your-own pizza experience at our wood fired oven. The famous Maqai  Meals served at the Beachfront Sandbar, or upon special request, directly to your room.Coffee and tea is available all day.Please advise if you have any special dietary requirements at tme of booking. We can cater to most diets.


To reach Qamea Island from Nadi, there are 2 options- Flight or ferry.

Option 1- quick and easy

Option 2- cheap and adventurous

Make your own way to Walu Bay in the Capital City of Suva. Ferries to Taveuni Island depart from Walu Bay on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. The trip is an overnight journey. Economy tickets are F$80 p.p. and sleeper cabins are also available. You can choose either the 'Lomaiviti Princess' or the 'SOFI'. From Taveuni Airport, the fare is F$80 p.p. each way. From Taveuni Wharf, the fare is F$110 p.p. each way
