Yasawa Island Resort and Spa is an exclusive retreat on a remote and unspoiled island.18 bungalows are hidden among the palms a few steps from a pristine beach. Swim in clear waters, dive on vividly colored corals, connect with an ancient culture or indulge in Fiji’s first beachfront spa
There are 15 words in the Fijian language for Heaven and ‘Yasawa’ is the first.
Discretely hidden among the palms on a stretch of pristine white beach, facing west towards the setting sun. The resort’s only neighbours are in a handful of traditional Fijian villages nearby, with no other development on the island. There are 11 pristine white beaches to choose from for a secluded picnic one of which was voted No. 4 best beach in the world in 2010.
Indulge in heavenly seclusion in an area renowned for its velvety, white sand beaches and crystal clear tropical waters. At Yasawa Island Resort & Spa there are no other resorts, no televisions, and no traffic; just the sounds of the palm trees swaying and the ocean lapping mere steps from your private villa. The resort features a new beachfront bar, boutique, lounge, and library. The al fresco restaurant with ocean views features an air-conditioned wine room – perfect for romantic dinners.
The 18 traditionally thatched, beachfront bures are understated in their luxury. Hidden among the palms, each air-conditioned bure has a discreet outdoor shower; an expansive deck with daybeds to wile away the afternoons; a separate living area with mini bar and stereo; a hammock strung between the palms; and your own thatched cabana with sun loungers on the edge of Yasawa’s famous white sand beach.

Room types

Bure – it’s Fijian for sanctuary. Yasawa is home to just 18 luxurious bures, each one just a few steps from the beach with a view of the ocean. Each air-conditioned bure is superbly fitted in contemporary Fijian style, with a thatched roof, plantation shutters, an expansive sun deck, an outdoor shower, a personal hammock and a private beach hut on the edge of the sands.
At Yasawa there’s no such thing as a standard room. We start with six Bure Suites that set a luxurious benchmark with their modern styling, open plan and ocean views. Scattered in pairs among the palms, they share just one adjoining wall and are positioned for privacy – the only thing you’ll see from inside is the beach.
On an island as remote as this you can have all the space you want. Yasawa’s 10 Deluxe Bures are vast and free-standing, offering ocean panoramas from inside and out. A split-level design creates separate living and sleeping areas inside, while broad decks and shaded day-beds extend the living space outside.
Perched on a rise overlooking the rest of the resort is a huge Family Bure with two separate bedrooms either side of a central living area. Its elevated outdoor deck provides magnificent views over the island and out to sea, and its name, Drodrolagi, is Fijian for rainbow.
The name says it all - Lomalagi, the Fijian word for heaven. Hidden from the rest of the resort at the end of a deserted white beach, the Honeymoon Bure Lomalagi is a private retreat with its own horizon pool overlooking the ocean. This is Yasawa at its best – absolute luxury and complete seclusion.

Our activities

Solitude. It’s our favorite pastime. So whatever you choose to do during your stay, you’ll be free to enjoy it in peace. Take a complimentary picnic on a deserted beach. Visit local villages to meet the local children or hear the church choir. Swim in the crystal waters of the famous Blue Lagoon or snorkel among corals and tropical fish. All activities at Yasawa are included in the tariff (except spa, diving & fishing). Yasawa has plenty to offer for anyone who loves to keep active. Land-based activities include tennis on our flood-lit court and volleyball on the beach, or set out upon the island’s hiking trails to explore the bays and headlands of the island. The Pacific ocean beckons from every point on Yasawa Island. Swim at any of 11 private beaches. A special treat between May and October are migrating manta rays. Try your hand at handline fishing, or take to the water aboard a sea kayak, catamaran, stand up paddle board or windsurfer.
