Sigavou Studios Art Tour

Tap into your inner artist at Sigavou Studio’s ‘Colours of Fiji’ tour located at Lot 1 Denarau Road. On the tour you can explore the art gallery and purchase Fiji-made art, learn about traditional Fijian masi craft and let your creativity run wild on your own art project to take home with you. Afterwards, pop across next door for delicious drinks and treats. Tours run weekdays from 10am – 12pm.

Visit the Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple

This brightly coloured Hindu temple at the southern end of Nadi town is hard to miss. The entire complex is a visual feast with pyramid shaped towers (typical of Dravidian architecture) covered in elaborate carvings of warriors, kings and gods. For a small entry fee, you can join the guided tour which runs every 1/2hour between 8.30am – 3.00pm but you'll need to observe a few rules like dressing modestly, removing your shoes and keeping your photos for the temple’s exterior. Top off your tour with a hot cup of masala tea and a delicious vegetarian meal at the Saravana Bhavan restaurant next door.

Garden of The Sleeping Giant

Explore the Garden of the Sleeping Giant

The American actor Raymond Burr’s passion for orchids was what gave this beautiful garden at the foothills of Sabeto’s ‘Sleeping Giant’ mountain its start. The main attraction are the 2000 plus orchid varieties but you’ll find lots of other tropical and indigenous plants there too. Join a scheduled sightseeing tour or wander the rustic paths yourself through the flower-filled rainforest to glorious views further up the hill. Open from 9am – 5pm daily except Sundays when they close at 1pm.

For some wallet-friendly pampering, head to Sabeto for a soothing soak in the area’s mud and geothermal pools. The fun, natural spa treatment kicks off with a thick mud lather before washing it all off with a dip in the different thermal pools. You’ll feel like a million dollars after – especially if you top if off with a massage from one of the local women. Most sightseeing tours include the pools as a stopover but you could also drop by yourself in a hired car. Open daily from 9am – 5pm.

Jumps range from 10,000ft to 13,000ft and up to 70 seconds of freefall depending on which package you book.

If you’d rather just stick to the big views, there are also excellent scenic helicopter tours with Heli tours, Pacific Island Air and Island Hoppers.

Ride Nadi’s Back Roads
