Coral coast - a beachcomber’s paradise!
The Coral Coast is a stunning 80km stretch of coastline between Sigatoka and Suva, on the southern shores of the main island of Viti Levu. Lined with sleepy villages and unspoilt beaches, the Coral Coast offers a wide variety of cultural activities and fun outdoor activities for everyone. Look out for village roadside stalls selling seasonal fruit or local hot corn. Many of the beaches offer serene, crystal clear swimming conditions perfect for families with young children. If you surf, you can be lucky enough to catch a wave when conditions are right.

Sigatoka Sand Dunes - Fiji’s first National Park
The Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park is one of 14 Heritage Sites administered by the National Trust of Fiji. It is Fiji’s first National Park, established in 1987 to protect its unique natural and cultural heritage and is located at the mouth of the Sigatoka River. The Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park is one of the most important archaeological sites in Fiji and the Pacific. You can explore this scenic and unique ecosystem on your own or request a guided tour from the rangers at the Visitor Information Centre. The very knowledgeable rangers can provide you with an informative introduction to the Park and how to navigate its walking tracks.
The park is open daily from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Tavuni Hill Fort
The beauty of the Coral Coast lies in little historic gems like the Tavuni Hill Fort located in the upper Sigatoka Valley, on a steep 90-metre limestone ridge.
Built in the 18th century by Tongan chief Maile Latumai, the site is only four kilometres east of Sigatoka town and features sacred grave sites, terraces for barricade fencing, ceremonial ground and a vatu ni bokola (head-chopping stone).
There are many examples of fortification sites around Fiji but the Tavuni Hill Fort is one of the most accessible and has magnificent views over the Sigatoka Valley.

Momi Battery Historic Park
For history buffs, the Momi Bay Historical Park, commonly known as the Momi Gun Site, should be on your must visit list. Located on the western side of Viti Levu, the site is one of six gun batteries installed during the Second World War, to protect Fiji against possible invasion by the Japanese.
With stunning views out to the Malolo Barrier Reef and the Mamanuca Islands, the site overlooks the Navula passage. The area was protected during World War II being close to one of the few deep water passages and entry points into western Fiji.
