Sports

Whether you are happiest watching an energetic game of beach volleyball between resort staff and fellow travellers or competing in a full triathlon, Fiji is the place to enjoy a wide range of sports. While rugby (or Rakavi) is the national sport, Fiji is home to many gifted athletes and there are many other sports that they love to play. Whether you’d like to jump in and join them, or cheer them on from the side line, you’ll find no shortage of sports for you to enjoy.
Beginner and professional golfers alike will enjoy taking a swing at one of Fiji’s several championship (and many other) golf courses. There’s a range of options for those who enjoy a round or two; some of the world’s most pristine courses offer uninterrupted views of the ocean, rainforest or lagoons. The Fiji International golf tournament showcases Fiji to the world as a must-visit location for golfers looking for the perfect escape. Annual ocean swims are between sun-drenched islands and over spectacular coral reefs teeming with marine life. The warm and inviting ocean presents ideal conditions to compete for first place, or to simply enjoy the experience. You can watch internationally ranked Pro Surfers take on Fiji’s iconic Cloudbreak or cheer for your favourite rugby team at the Coral Coast 7s tournament in Sigatoka on Viti Levu. From Hobie Cats and canoeing regattas to stand up paddle board races along Fiji’s beautiful coastline; netball tournaments to basketball competitions, your enthusiasm on or off court, vessel or board will be well received! Are you in to win, or happy cheering from the side line?
