Reaching Kadavu: A Guide to Your Adventure Destination

Kadavu, Fiji’s southernmost island, is the perfect destination for outdoor adventures. Though remote, getting there is fairly straightforward with this handy guide to travelling to Kadavu by air and sea transfers.

Things to Know Before You Go

Vunisea – Kadavu’s main hub – is your most likely arrival point on the island. From here, your resort’s transfer boat should be waiting to whisk you straight to paradise - no time wasted!

Services are limited in Vunisea so make sure to pack essentials like medicines, toiletries, and your favorite snacks before leaving the mainland (Viti Levu). If you need to grab something last-minute, there’s a post office, a hospital (though no pharmacies), a few general stores, and a local market for those “just in case” moments before you set off.

Travel to Kadavu By Air

The easiest and fastest way to get to Kadavu is to fly there. Hop on a scheduled flight with Fiji Airways domestic airline (Fiji Link) for the most budget-friendly option. However, if you’re craving flexibility and don’t mind splurging a bit, there’s also the option of a chartered 9-seater plane. Just a heads up – all flights have limited seating so it's best to book your seat ahead of time.
