The RoC Market – Fiji’s largest and longest running community market – is the place to be on the 3rd Sunday of every month. The popular pop-up market is where small, fledgling businesses peddle handmade goods art and cultural handicrafts, delicious pastries and island fashion staples. The market’s range of unique artisan gifts is shopping heaven – pick up a pair of funky earrings, taste test the homemade chutneys and banter with the local vendors. And when you’re done browsing, find a cool spot under the trees to feast on some delicious food and enjoy the live music.

Craft Markets by the Sea
The second weekend of every month is when the Nadi markets spring into action. The Vuda Beach market happens every second Saturday of the month at the First Landing Beach Resort in Vuda. If you miss Saturday’s market, there’s another chance to pick up some home-made goodies at the Beachclub at Wailoaloa on Sunday.
Beachy views, a laid-back vibe and cute Fiji-made craft shopping makes Nadi craft markets an enjoyable way to spend a few hours. The early morning hustle and bustle is a fun and vibrant space for both vendors and shoppers. Grab some yummy bites and picnic under the trees or watch the kids paddle in the shallows off the beach. It’s the perfect little day escape from your hotel.

Walk through any handicraft centre in Fiji and you’ll be met with the rows of wooden artefacts and an assortment of woven or shell handicraft crammed into the dimly lit stalls. These markets are a bargain hunters paradise, packed with Fijian-made craft and knick knacks that make perfect holiday souvenirs or home décor pieces. Take your time to browse the tiny stalls and haggle with vendors over wooden treasures like kava bowls, woven mats and bags, printed tapa and shell jewellery.
Many stalls are run by the crafters themselves so it’s also the perfect opportunity to sit and chat about how their products were used in the past. Fijian Handicraft Centres can be found in urban centres like Suva, Nadi and Lautoka.

From a humble handicraft and souvenir shop in the late 1960s, Jacks of Fiji has grown to be one of Fiji’s retail success stories. You’ll find their stores in every major Fijian town as well as boutique outlets at the big resorts in the Coral Coast, Nadi and Denarau.
