No matter how long you’re staying in Taveuni, we’ve put together three full days of must-do adventures that make it worth a trip to northern Fiji.
| Breakfast | At your resort |
| Coffee & Smoothies | The Dive Café (Tides Reach Resort) If you’re near Matei, stop by The Dive Café for barista-made coffee and a packed lunch to take on the road as there are no shops or restaurants on the way to Lavena Village. The café opens at 8am and it’s better if you call ahead for food takeaways. |

Start early for this full-day adventure to Taveuni’s wild south-eastern coast. Civa Pearl Farm: (Optional) If you have time, call ahead and organise a stop at the Civa Pearl farm on the way to Lavena. Even if you don’t have time for the full pearl farm tour, you might be tempted to purchase some of their rare coloured pearls and jewellery. Lavena Coastal Walk: Starting at Lavena Village, this 10km out and back trail is fairly flat and scenic, weaving through rainforest, along beaches and past village edges before you get to the gorgeous Wainibau waterfall. Cool off with a swim, then enjoy your packed picnic lunch by the water. If the sea is calm, it’s worth taking the return boat trip back to the village with a short detour along the coast for epic views of waterfalls tumbling straight into the ocean. Remember to book an official tour via your resort and keep an eye on weather conditions. Read more about the Lavena Coastal Walk. |
| Dinner | After a big day of exploring, sundowners and dinner back at your resort is the perfect wind down. |

Dive the Rainbow Reef: This is what Taveuni is famous for – world-class scuba diving - so it’s an absolute must to do a 2-tank morning scuba dive on the Rainbow Reef’s dive sites. Expect vibrant soft corals and schools of colourful reef fish. Relax at your resort: Ease into island life with a a slow afternoon snorkelling, swimming in your resort pool or lounging in a hammock. |
| Dinner | If you want to explore eateries outside your resort, Tromonto Restaurant and Coconut Grove in Matei (near the airport) are great options. Call ahead, check the menu for the night and reserve a table for sunset. |
| Breakfast | At your resort |
| Coffee and Smoothies | KaiTime Restaurant: Before you head south, grab a barista-made coffee from Aroha Taveuni Resort near the Waiyevo Jetty. It’s a quick stop, but you’ll be glad to have it on the long, scenic drive down to Nabogiono (Bobby’s) Farm. |
| Adventure |
Book a sightseeing tour with Aloha Taveuni Tours and start early for this full-day adventure to Taveuni’s southern tip. International Dateline (180 Meridian): This is one of the few places in the world where you can stand with one foot in yesterday and the other in today. It’s a quick photo stop, but a good one for your social feed. Nabogiono (Bobby’s) Farm Tour: Slow things down and join Bobby (or his family) for an easy and informative walk through the food gardens, tasting seasonal fruit along the way and learning about local medicinal plants. It wraps up with a delicious farm-to-table vegan lunch at the farmhouse. |
| Dinner | Squeeze in another stop at Aroha Taveuni resort on your return journey for a delicious wood-fired pizza break before heading back to your resort. |
Phone reception can be patchy around the island and non-existent in some parts. Let your resort know where you’re heading and when you expect to be back.
If you’re scuba diving on Taveuni make sure you leave enough time before your next flight. It’s a standard dive safety rule.
Three days in Taveuni can feel rushed if you pack too much into it. If you can, try to stay a bit longer or pair it with a trip to nearby Savusavu for a nature-filled Fiji itinerary that blends both regions.
